In October, our school's biology laboratory welcomed a group of energetic Form 6 students. They were fully engaged in an experimental activity focused on soybean genetic research. In front of them were two sets of soybeans: one was regular soybeans, and the other was a special variety with salt tolerance. The purpose of this activity was to let students experience the charm of biotechnology firsthand and learn how to use modern techniques to identify and compare the genetic differences between different soybean varieties.
The success of this activity was not only due to the students' efforts but also to the support from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the guidance of Professor Lam Hon Ming. We will continue to provide such opportunities for students to grow and develop, and we hope that they can apply the experience and knowledge gained from this activity to their future studies and lives.
